My Approach
At Elevate Writing Studio, I believe students grow best when they feel supported, understood, and challenged in ways that honor who they are. My approach blends expert instruction, executive functioning support, and confidence-building mentorship, helping each student step into their voice with clarity and pride.
Writing is not just about grammar or structure. It is about thinking, communication, and the ability to express ideas with intention. Through individualized guidance, I help students build these lifelong skills while cultivating independence, organization, and academic habits that empower them far beyond a single assignment.
Every session is tailored to the student’s unique learning style, strengths, and goals. By combining structure with creativity and personalized attention, I help students gain confidence, clarity, and self-assurance in both their writing and their broader academic journey.

Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is grounded in nurturing each student’s unique mind. Here are the six principles that guide every session:
1. Strengths-Based Instruction
Every student arrives with strengths: curiosity, creativity, humor, insight, or determination. I start by identifying what they already do well, then use that foundation to help them take the next steps with confidence. When students feel capable, they take more risks, learn more deeply, and grow faster.
2. Clear Structure and Compassionate Support
I balance structure with warmth. Students thrive when expectations are clear, steps are broken down, and the path forward feels doable. I also lead with empathy, recognizing that writing can be an emotional, vulnerable, or overwhelming experience. My goal is to make the process feel safe, encouraging, and achievable.
3. Executive Functioning Embedded Into Everything
Rather than treating executive functioning as a separate class, I integrate executive functioning tools directly into the writing process. Students learn how to:
plan assignments
organize ideas
manage time
break tasks into steps
move from brainstorm to final draft
These skills reduce stress, increase independence, and support success in every academic area.
4. Real-Time Modeling and Active Coaching
Students learn best by seeing great thinking in action. I use a highly interactive coaching style that includes real-time writing, live modeling, guided practice, and active feedback. Students aren’t just told what to change, they also learn why and how.
5. Personalized, Human-Centered Mentorship
Coaching is more than instruction; it’s relationship. I take time to understand each student’s personality, school environment, learning style, and goals. Students know they have someone in their corner who cares deeply about their progress and believes in their potential.
6. Strong Communicators, Confident Thinkers
Ultimately, my philosophy is simple:
When students trust their thinking, they communicate with clarity and confidence.
My work is grounded in helping students discover their voice, build academic resilience, and grow into thoughtful, independent learners who are ready for the future, whatever that looks like.
